Launch of the West Midlands Manufacturing Measurement Centre, TechnoCentre, Coventry

The new West Midlands Manufacturing Measurement Centre opens its doors for business on 28th September 2006 at Coventry University’s TechnoCentre. It aims to provide practical advice, training and support to manufacturing businesses in the region through improvements in measurement best practice. It will provide hands-on access to impressive measurement technology and a doorway to further business and technology support available nationally and in the West Midlands.

Working through the National Physical Laboratory (NPL), and more recently the Manufacturing Advisory Service (MAS), the Precise Group has demonstrated the real business benefits of adopting best measurement practice and measurement technology through the On-Machine Measurement programme. A successful outcome of that programme was the establishment of a Manufacturing Metrology Centre at Leeds College of Technology, and we have provided substantial advice and guidance for the formation of this new centre in Coventry as well as training for MAS advisors and Further Education Colleges in the region.

The Precise Group’s Mick Capps will illustrate the business benefits of measurement at the launch, with speakers from DTI, NPL, MAS, Coventry University Enterprises and Business Link.
