The On-Machine Measurement Project aims to address this objective by improving manufacturing processes amongst SME's through the adoption of best measurement practice through all stages of the manufacturing cycle.

It concentrates particularly on identifying and improving measurement practices "On-Machine", focusing on introduction to calibration of machines as well as traceable measurement on machine tools.

It also looks at bespoke and standard measurement equipment and associated systems.
This project has been designed to achieve this objective and with funding from the dti will provide participating SME's with an opportunity to "free trial" identified metrology equipment.
